Providing more than just a comfy ride

At the 10th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS), Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) showed off the capabilities of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Running from October 20 to 21, 2022, the event was held at the SMX Convention Center.

When it was displayed at the event’s Mitsubishi booth, the Outlander PHEV demonstrated how it could function as a backup generator for the home. This is thanks to the Outlander PHEV’s on-board battery system, which can work in-tandem with the Dendo Drive House (DDH) Setup.

Apart from being a spacious, stylish, and family-friendly ride, it could also double as an emergency power source when the usual power grid is unavailable. This can be especially advantageous here in the Philippine setting, since our country is considered prone to disasters with numerous typhoons striking every year.

The DDH consists of a large home battery, a bi-directional charger, solar panels, and the Outlander PHEV itself. The solar panels charge up the home battery when sunlight is available. In turn, the Outlander PHEV can provide power to home at night, while being charged up by the very same system during the day.

If this sounds attractive to you, then take note that the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV’s sole variant for the local market currently has a price tag of Php 2,998,000.

Its powertrain consists of two motors and a 2.4-liter gasoline engine. When used in combination, they can generate up to 190 horsepower and 332 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to all four wheels via an automatic gearbox. Also present on the Outlander PHEV are convenience features such as an electric tailgate and electric sunroof. It also loads of space for up to five occupants, as well as plenty of other amenities and safety features.

Interested buyers can also contact MMPC directly, or visit one of their authorized dealerships for more information on the Dendo Drive House.
